Château de Santenay
Château de Santenay is one of Burgundy’s largest wine domaines. Its prestigious heritage, which comprises a remarkable 9th - 16th century glazed tile roof Château belonging to Philippe le Hardi, Duke of Burgundy. In 1395, the Duke signed the founding document for single varietal cultivation in Burgundy. The document was named the “Ordonnance de Philippe le Hardi”. Pinot Noir thus replaced Gamay as the varietal used for red wine production in Burgundy. Château de Santenay owns 90 hectares of vines split between white and red wines produced in 14 appellations including Bourgogne, Hautes Côtes de Beaune, Mercurey, Aloxe Corton, Beaune, Pommard, Santenay, Saint-Aubin and Clos de Vougeot, and from a number of different ‘climats’, Château Santenay includes no less than 25 wines in its range including 3 Monopolies, 10 Premier Crus and one Grand Cru.

Family Picard
Located in Chassagne-Montrachet, the Domaine Famille Picard was founded in 1951. In 1986, they acquired his first estate, Château de Davenay, renowned in particular for its Montagny 1er Cru "Clos Chaudron". In 1997, the family acquired its fifth estate, Château de Chassagne-Montrachet. 136 hectares of vines spread over 6 areas between the Côte Chalonnaise and the Côte de Beaune. The domain required significant renovation and modernization of the 1,000 barrels vat house. The family produces about 130,000 botles per year 60% red & 40% whites.

Chateau Pommard
Château de Pommard is a winery in Pommard, established in 1726, and known for its two Châteaux, gardens, and its 20 hectare walled vineyard, Clos Marey-Monge. The winery produces "Clos" wines – Pinot Noir produced from the grapes of Clos Marey-Monge and Grand Cru, Premier Cru, Village and Bourgogne wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir appellations across the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune.

Chateau de Chassagne Montrachet

Château de la Crée
Château de la Crée estate in Santenay dates back to 1431, when it was owned by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor to Philippe the Good and founder of the Hospices de Beaune. 40% of all plantings are in Premier Cru sites which include seven rare Premier Cru parcels covering 25 acres in Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay and Maranges. Wines are aged in the historic 16th century cellars following 14-18 months in oak barrels. All wines feature the DSGC cork

Hospice de Beaune and Hotel de Dieu
The Hundred Years War had recently been brought to a close but marauding bands, pillaging and destroying, contiued to provoke misery and famine throughout France. Beaune had particularly suffered from these crimes and was declared destitute.

As a result, in 1443 Nicolas Rolin and his wife, Guigone de Salins, chancellor of Burgundy to Duke Philip the Good, built the Hotel de Dieu as a hospital for the poor and needy.

The beauty of the interiors rivals that of the exterior. In the great “Salle des Pauvres” ("hall of the poor"), decorated with multi-coloured beams which are unique in the world, reigns a serenity which will leave no one unmoved. The halls of Sainte-Anne, Saint-Nicolas, Saint-Hugues and Saint-Louis are overflowing with treasures: statues, furniture, pottery, paintings, tapestries…and the kitchen has been restored exactly as it was in the 19th century.

It is one of the finest examples of French fifteenth-century architecture. a 'medieval jewel', with its superb multi-colored Burgundian roof tiles and is now Beaune’s finest museum. Wine auctions are held each November. Hôtel Dieu founded in 1443, part of the Hospices de Beaune.
